Use little silk detergent for washing or, alternatively, a wool detergent. Wash your cotton-silk sling at 30° C max. and do not dry-spin it (make sure your machine has no intermediate spin-cycle). Wash your baby sling regularly, also in case of baby spit-up stains.. Add some vinegar to the rinse water. Iron the fabric as long as it is still damp and at low temperature. Switch off the steam function if you use a steam iron.
Some characteristics of silk Due to its low density, silk is leightweight and very comfortable, it retains its shape and also drapes and forms well. Silk is cool in the summer and warm in the winter and it is probably the finest and most precious of all natural fibers. Silk has a characteristic odour caused by silk gum (sericine) which will be removed by washing and the odour will fade away. |
